Setting Up a Pinterest Business Account

Hello and welcome to Marketing Quick TipsOnQ

In this blog post and video we are going to go over how to set up a Pinterest Bussiness Account as well as go over the advantages of having a Pinterest Business Account.

You’ll first need to open up your web browser and head on over to pinterest.com.

From the home page, right in the center you will notice that you can sign up with Facebook or sign up with Email.

Signing up is free, quick and easy to do.

When setting up a business account I’d recommend that you select sign up with Email.

You will then see this sign up form.

You’ll want to look for the “Are you a business” question and click on the “click here” link.

You’ll then be redirected to the business sign up form.

You can then select the type of business, add your account manager information, enter your business name & website and select a Pinterest User Name.

As we’ve mentioned in other episodes, it is important to keep the social channel user names the same when ever possible to help make it easier for you and your marketing efforts.

The last step is to agree to the Pinterest Terms of Service and click on the Create Account button.

What if you’re already using Pinterest for your business on a personal account?

Pinterest makes it easy for you to convert that personal account to a business account.

The advantages to converting over a personal account to a business account is that you would be able to keep personal pins separate from the business pins with a clear distinction between the two.

With a business account you will also have access to useful tools like Pinterest Analytics and as Pinterest continues to roll out other business tools like promoted Pins you’ll automatically have access to those tools.

Once the account has been set up, you’ll want to verify your website because this will show that you are a trustworthy source to the Pinterest User Community.

I’d like to also recommend that you add the Pin It button to your website to make it easy for your site visitors to share your content on their own Pinterest accounts.

Setting up a business account will also allow you to get the Pinterest Business Newsletter emailed directly to your account manager’s email address.

This newsletter is full of tips on how to use Pinterest to market your business as well as other cool features like how to add your Pinterest boards to your own website.

I hope that you found this information useful.
